"What are Menthol Crystals? They are found naturally occurring in several varieties of the Mentha botanical family which includes western peppermint (Mentha piperita), spearmint (Mentha spicata). However the corn mint (Mentha arvensis) plant is the most abundant to obtain Menthol Crystals. The process to isolate the crystals in large quantity became easy once distillation of the plant produced an essential oil. From this point, the oil was frozen, and the “crystals” could be easily separated."
