Human skin is abundant in hyaluronic acid which is found throughout the skin as well as connective and epithelial tissue. It is one of the chief components of the extracellular matrix contributing significantly to cell proliferation and migration. Being a glycosaminoglycan, it attracts water which deeply hydrate, boosts moisturization and plumps all three layers of skin, reducing wrinkles and other signs of ageing. Commonly used in cosmetics, this liquid complex is easy to incorporate into formulations such as water-soluble serums, cream and lotions. Not recommended for anhydrous or oil based formulas.
