Esters – Linalyl acetate (60-70%), geranyl acetate (1.5 – 3.5%)
Monoterpenes (2-3%): a & b pinene, phellandrene, limonene, germacrene (.5 -4%)
Sesquiterpenes (5%): caryophyllene (1.4-3.5%)
Alcohols : linalool (18-25%),
Monoterpeneols: sclareol (0.5%), a-terpineol (1.5-3.5%)
Cautions / Safety Data
Do not use with alcohol consumption. Use may trigger headaches and nausea in smokers. Always dilute in appropriate carriers before use. Avoid with low blood pressure. Not for internal use. Avoid use in first six months of pregnancy. If pregnant or suffering from serious medical conditions, consult a qualified health professional, experienced in the use of essential oils.
Useful Information
Vastly different aroma and chemistry from sage (salvia officinalis) and not meant to be used as a substitute or replacement. Is considered to have sedating/calming properties. Clary Sage is considered to be a very strong and peculiar smelling oil. Add lesser amounts to blends and then reassess.
