Cautions / Safety Data
Generally, a safe soothing oil to use. Mild dermal reactions may occur in people with allergies to pollen. This may be attributed to poor qualities where the pollen has not been filtered. Improved production procedures in recent years has almost eliminated this issue. Do not use on the skin full strength. Always dilute in appropriate carriers before use. Not for internal use. If pregnant or suffering from serious medical conditions, consult a qualified health professional, experienced in the use of essential oils.
The aroma and quality of chamomile is very dependent on the yearly climate and varying state of soil in different regions. This may have some dramatic effects on price and supply from year to year. Due to expense of oil, best utilized in face creams, personal perfumes, body massage, light diffusions. Is reputed for use when inflammation is present.
What does 10 mean%? We carry certain precious oils (Oakmoss, Jasmine, Neroli and Rose Absolute for example) in a diluted 10% version. For an oil to be precious it means that it is very difficult – and expensive – to extract and produce. For example, Rose must be cultivated at dawn and is processed immediately to obtain the maximum yield of oil. It is one of the highest priced oils to obtain due to the substantial number of petals required to produce a relatively small amount of oil. Precious oils are also very potent, and only really needed pure if you are doing something such as making perfume.
We provide a 10% dilution of our precious oils to keep them accessible and affordable. We carry all of our precious oils pure along with their more affordable 10% dilution.
We dilute all of our 10% essential oils in fractionated coconut oil. It is the best choice as it is light, has no odour, and will not oxidize essential oils in the mix. Clear jojoba oil can be used but it is approximately 3 times the price.
