Description: herbaceous plant blooming late spring to autumn. Part of the mint family.

Colour:  clear to pale yellow

Aroma: Earthy herbal with slight mint and soft floral.

Properties:  Carminative, Diuretic, Insect repellent,  Nervine, Emmenagogue, Sedative.

Constituents:  α-pinene, β-pinene  β-caryophyllene, carvone, cis ocimene, limonene,. Nepetalactone,

Uses: Very well known as a strong insect repellent. Many studies suggest that the component Nepetalactone is the closest in nature to DEET. Helps with fever, migraine easing muscular, intestinal or menstrual cramps.

Safety: Avoid use during pregnancy. For external use only. Should be diluted prior to skin application. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth. May cause skin irritation for some individuals, a skin patch test is recommended prior to use.
