Description
Black Castor Oil
Black Castor Oil (Ricinus communis) is obtained by cold pressing the roasted beans of the Castor plant. It is often called Jamaican Black Castor Oil as the method of roasting the Castor beans was developed in Jamaica. The oil is dark brown in colour and its aroma is light, nutty and smokey.
It is mostly composed of triglycerides and fatty chain acids (up to 90%) including ricinoleate, and linoleates. It is often considered to be highly nutritious for hair and nails.
