Cautions / Safety Data
A very potent oil and considered a dermal and mucolytic irritant due to presence of high levels of eugenol. Do not use on the skin full strength. Always dilute in appropriate carriers before use. Avoid use with high blood pressure. Not for internal use. Use sparingly with asthma and other severe respiratory conditions. If pregnant or suffering from serious medical conditions, consult a qualified health professional, experienced in the use of essential oils.
Useful Information
A sharp, warm and spicy oil similar in aroma to clove or cinnamon due to eugenol content. Widely used for centuries throughout Caribbean, and Central America for arthritis, muscle pain and fatigue. As with most oils of the Myrtacea family that contain high levels of eugenol, they are also reputed to be strong anti-microbics with particular strength as antivirals. The oil is reputed to contain aphrodisiac qualities when used in small amounts. The ground spice is been used for internal and digestive discomforts and parasites
